  • This tricolor papad is a medley of Plain & Green chutney flavored Moong papad the mildly spicy and intensely flavourful Chana papad also known as Lapad.
  • Its made from a fabulous traditional heirloom recipe.
  • How LOW SALT?
    • Unlike commercial papads all our papads are made with Papad Khar or Sajji salt. Sajji was traditionally used to make papads by our ancestors. Today commercial papad manufacturers use cheap substitutes for Saji like Soda Bicarbonate which makes the Papad high in Sodium thus causing lifestyle diseases like Blood pressure and are bad for the stomach.
  • Our papads don't stick to the jaws like commercial papads do because they are made with premium ingredients and spices using artisanal techniques our ancestors had used. These are not mass-produced, factory-made papads. Ours are hand made, sun-dried which is evident from the fact that they may slightly vary in size.
  • Serve them with the meal or as a snack and embellish your meal every time with minimal effort.
  • -500 gm

      FAQs

Why do some doctors advise against eating papad?

Many commercially produced papads contain high levels of sodium and preservatives, which can contribute to health issues such as hypertension and digestive problems.

What makes Old Fashioned Gourmet papad better?

Our papads are crafted using premium ingredients and traditional methods, including natural fermentation, hand-rolling, and sun-drying. We incorporate Saaji (natural crystal) and Sendha Namak (Himalayan pink salt) instead of sodium bicarbonate and common salt. This approach results in a healthier, low-sodium papad that is both malleable and flavorful.

Why is papad traditionally included in meals?

Papad adds a delightful crunch and enhances the overall texture of a meal. Made primarily from lentils, it contributes dietary fiber and protein, aiding digestion and complementing the nutritional profile of the meal and reducing the Glycemic load of the meal keeping us feeling full for longer.

How much papad should I eat?

As Amma used to say, papad should be enjoyed as a condiment, not as a main dish. Consuming half to one papad per meal is sufficient to enhance your dining experience without overindulgence.
