- Garam masala symbolizes Indian culinary tradition. It is believed to have made its way into India along with the Indo-Islamic rulers who took their cues from Persian and Ottoman courts. Although monarchies declined, aristocratic cooking traditions were picked up by aspirational home cooks and maybe that's how such ingredients remained very much a part of modern-day Indian kitchens.
- Whole spices for centuries have been known for their medicinal properties. Garam masala has health benefits too. Its sheer name suggests the fact that these spices are considered ‘heating’, in the sense of raising body metabolism.
- OFG's Garam Masala is an aromatic blend of 18 ancient spices, each handpicked, hand-sorted, sun-dried, hand pound and then ground to perfection. Its proportions are picked up from our families Heirloom recipe. We use many ancient spices like Stone Flower, Nutmeg, Mace etc which are no longer used in everyday cooking.
- It adds tremendous flavor to any curry. Just a pinch at the end will ensure the aromas are intact.
- It can be used as a spice rub for meats as well.
- Weight - 50 gms or 100 gms

We meticulously evaluate each spice based on size, color, and fragrance to ensure uniformity, right hues, and robust aromas. This careful selection guarantees that the spices we offer are the same ones we use in our own kitchen, providing you with the finest quality.
How should I store the spices to maintain their freshness?
To preserve their flavor and aroma, store spices in airtight containers placed in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. This practice helps maintain their potency and extends shelf life.
Should I order spices in bulk or as needed?
We recommend ordering spices regularly in quantities that suit your immediate needs. This practice ensures you enjoy the freshest spices without the need for long-term storage, which can diminish their potency over time.
Do your spices contain any preservatives?
